Feliberto Ramirez, the homeless man, took the phone from the boy when his mother, Kira Talley, was shopping for tennis shoes. Ramirez, patted her son, Aidan Talley, on the head, said “thank you,” and gave him $3 for the device.
When Ramirez left, Aidan yelled to his mother that her phone was taken. Talley ran after him, but didn’t catch up. According to the police, Ramirez stole the phone for $50.
Because of the GPS in the phone, the police found him at a homeless shelter and arrested him. “He’s was drug addict — he needed the money for drugs,” said a source.
He was charged with grand larceny, and his bail was set at $10,000.
