Where is the first place you hide when you’re being chased by the police? The mud, of course! Wait… maybe not. A man suspected of burglary tried to hide in the mud to get away from the cops.

A Clinton, Kent. woman came home to find a man, Michael Williams, in her house. He took a TV, jewelry, and other valuables. He was able to get away into his car. That was when the woman called the police, according to KFVS.

The police knew the truck he was driving from the woman, and they spotted it on the highway. When they pursued him, he drove into a ravine. He got out of his car and ran. The police set up a perimeter around the area, and with help from their K-9 department, one of the dogs found him covered in mud in a creek.

Williams was arrested and charged with burglary, fleeing and evading police, resisting arrest and wanton endangerment. He is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Not condoning what he did, but I’d be UPSET if I hid in the mud and still got caught! Maybe that will teach him not to steal.
