The Urban Daily is sad to report that the rumors that have been swirling around Twitter and the internets the last few hours concerning Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly are true.

According to CNN, Chris Kelly, one-half of the 1990s rap duo Kris Kross, died Wednesday at an Atlanta hospital after he was found unresponsive at his home. He was 34.

How Kelly died isn’t known and the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office said an autopsy is planned for Thursday.

Says Da Brat, Kelly’s So So Def label mate:

“REST IN PEACE TO MY LIL BRO CHRIS KELLY OF KRIS KROSS. Dam wasn’t we JUST at rehearsal and doin a So So Def20 show?,” she

Big Boi Of Outkast Tweeted;

“R.I.P. Chris Kelly Kelly #Kris Kross”

We here are just as shocked as everyone else right now and are trying to find the words to sum up what everyone is expressing tonight. Just recently we covered the group for the So So Def 20 Year Anniversary and published a story with Kris Kross regarding them getting back together to make music. So this is truly a touching moment for The Urban Daily staff tonight as well as you, their fans. Many of us grew up listening to them.

Let’s try for a moment to remember Chris Kelly the way we first met and fell in love with him. He was a  young trendsetter who came out onto the hip-hop scene blasting us with lyrics and a flow that took the rap world by storm. You didn’t have to be 13 to get him and you definitely didn’t have to be 13 to like him. RIP Chris Kelly.

Again, the info is very sketchy right now and calls are being made to representatives. The Urban Daily will continue to update this story as information becomes available.
