There is no missing the Canadian rapper Drake on any platform. The OVO CEO has come to dominate social media sites, TV, radio and magazines on the strength of his albums, “Take Care,” and “Thank Me Later.” Despite the confessional themes and facts he sprinkles across his hit singles, what most people might not know is that he comes from a pretty impressive family tree of musicians.

His father Dennis Graham was a well respected drummer performing with Jerry Lee Lewis. His uncle Larry Graham played bass alongside Prince and Sly and the Family Stone. Also guitarist Teenie Hodges, who played with Talking Heads and worked with Al Green, is also one of Drake’s musically inclined uncles. So maybe when he raps that he “started from the bottom” he was referring to bass?
