Joseline Hernandez had been promoting her music for some time on “Love & Hip Hop” but she surprised us all with her gritty-reggaeton music video for her song “Mi Colta.” If you’re like us, you probably tried to Google what ‘colta’ meant in Spanish and received several variations for Joseline’s debut single.
After consulting several Spanish-speaking friends and relatives we’ve come to the conclusion that the word ‘colta’ does not exist and is in fact a load of basura. Seems like Stevie J‘s lady may have been trying to start her own lingo-or perhaps she struggles with Spanish just as much as her English. We may never know.
Here’s our list of things Joseline might have been trying to say:
1. Her body. It wouldn’t be the first time someone nicknamed a body part, let alone write a song about their own but could Joseline be referring to her lady parts? The reality star takes pride in calling herself ‘the baddest puta’ so we wouldn’t be surprised if she was referring to-well you get where we’re going with this, right? In fact, one of our friends tells us that “colta” is slang for “cut” or “slit”…you get the idea…
2. Her clique. In Italian, ‘colta’ means ‘cult’ so perhaps she was referring to her own ‘cult’ or clique. This past season, we’ve watched Joseline try to separate herself from drama with other females and get closer to Stevie J so what would her clique be without her boo?
3. Her hood. ‘Mi Colta’ featured a quick tour of her native city Ponce, Puerto Rico. Our guess is that ‘colta’ may be referring to ‘the streets’ that the reggaeton rapper grew up in.
