Draya Michele may have never actually been a basketball wife but it looks like she’ll be a football wife after all.
Draya took to social media late yesterday evening to announce that Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick had popped the question and of course, she said yes. The Basketball Wives L.A. reality star first shared the news and a few details on the proposal exclusively with People magazine.
“He told me to dress casual and we ended up going to where we had our first date. He was acting so weird and so nervous. When he walked up to the bar he tripped and fell over some chairs! I was thinking ‘What in the world is wrong with him?’
He got down on one knee and as soon as he started to talk I got nervous and couldn’t help but to laugh hysterically. I was laughing and crying at the same time.”
She later posted this photo & short caption of her own on her Instagram page, confirming the news.
The couple has had a rocky road to their happily ever after in recent months, with many fans not even aware that they were back together, but Draya is confident that it was all necessary in the end.
“We were getting ready to take the next step and I believe that with new levels comes new devils. We needed a little time away to realize that we missed each other terribly.
I never give permission to move on or anything like that. While he was in Dallas we stayed in contact and talked almost everyday.”
Draya is currently in the middle of filming the 4th season of Basketball Wives L.A. while Orlando is hard at work training for the upcoming NFL season, but Draya says wedding planning will be on hold for now anyway as she is looking forward to enjoying the engagement period.
“I’m in no rush. It took a lot to get to this point, so I’m going to let him relax for a little while.
I’m going to soak this time in and have fun! I’m technically not married so I don’t have to be boring just yet. I’m looking forward to being a really hot fiancée!”
Congratulations to Draya and Orlando!
