It looks like Jason Pierre-Paul is headed for the sidelines. The New York Giants have retracted a $60 million extension to the defensive end, after a fireworks accident left him with severe hand injuries over the weekend.
In a series of unfortunate events, Pierre-Paul, who wrapped up a stellar season with the New York Giants, also has a $14.8M single-year contract on the table with the team, but that remains unsigned. Both sides have until July 15 to sign the deal. But fortunately, the pass rusher’s injuries do not seem to be career-ending, so he will probably hit the field once more. But as of now, it’s unclear if he’ll suit up for Big Blue this fall.
