Pretend you’re ten years old and your mom asks you what you want for Christmas. You tell her just how much you want the new Xbox system and she reassures you that maybe, just maybe this Xbox is going to be under the Christmas tree. Christmas Day comes but the Xbox is nowhere in sight.

Ouch, that hurts. So just imagine how Nerlens Noel feels right about now. Leading up to the 2013 NBA Draft, sports and media outlets suggested that Noel, the 6 ft 11 in big man from the University of Kentucky, was the No. 1 pick. To everyone’s surprise Noel was the No. 6 pick selected by the New Orleans Pelicans before being traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers traded their best player, Jrue Holiday, for the former Kentucky Wildcat.

Noel suffered a torn ACL in February, which might have cost him the No. 1 pick. He is expected to play in December.

Noel, don’t be disappointed. We know for a fact your favorite NBA player, Kevin Garnett is among several successful NBA players who were not No. 1 draft picks.

Skip to 0:23 to see the disappointed look on Noel’s face as Anthony Bennett gets selected as the No. 1 pick for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
