I’ve heard some really bad songs in my thirty years on this planet, and I thought that after R. Kelly’s “Trapped In The Closet,” which was so bad it actually turned out to be pretty good, that I’d heard the worst of it.
Apparently not.
A few months ago, I heard the H-Town & Jodeci collaboration “Knockin Your Heels” (no, seriously, that’s the title) and laughed heartily at its video. Ultimately, it wasn’t far removed from the type of music both of these has beens had been making during their heyday some 15 years ago when this pairing would’ve actually mattered. The song suffered from all of the 90s R&B cliches: hypersexed and extremely clumsy lyrics, and enough vocal histrionics that would make Patti Labelle want to keep her shoes on for a change.
The guys of H-Town and Jodeci must have thought that the song didn’t assault ones senses enough, so they added freakin’ Pretty Ricky to the remix.
PAUSE! Why Does Pretty Ricky Keep Putting Out These Flamboyant Videos!?!?
The end result is about as sexy as the rape scene in The Accused.

If you didn’t catch the video, watch it below.

It’s not as bad as the writer would lead you to believe, it’s sure better than some to the tripe that’s constantly played on the radio.

How can we be so cruel to some of the hottest celebs from the 90s? I actually like it (the original minus the Pretty Ricky). Let them boys make them some of this easy money. I mean after all this is the society that “soulja boyed” and “lil wayned” and “twittered ” American life into hell. It’s not that bad at all. And they are all looking pretty decent too, they could knock my heels off…lol (jk on that last comment for anyone who is about to jump on my head)

I like the song it is no diffrent from what you hear today except for it is an older group putting it out there with a slower groove. You sit and you listen to it once or twice without the remix you actually would like the song. It begins to grow on you. Trust and I am a fan of back in the day R&B singers to Present singers all of them serve there own special purpose when it comes to listening to slow music.

I liked the song without pretty ricky messing it up! I tried to listen to the one feat. pretty ricky but as soon as all that “so called rapping” came in I quickly pressed stop! Everybody has their own opinion though, I personally enjoyed the song but I agree that the video was a little crappy but I doubt they’d really care anyway about whether or not anyone liked or didn’t like the video! Lol

They’re vocal talents could have been used for a better song. In all honesty though it wasn’t atrociously bad. I’m sure I’ve heard worse.
