Lil Wayne has filed a lawsuit against the film company that produced the recent documentary, The Carter. The 26 year-old rapper alleges that the production company, headed by music producer and son of legendary musician Quincy Jones, QDIII, failed to give him the final approval over the film as promised.

The docu-film recently debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January, but Wayne claims that he was not given final approval over the film as was agreed upon before the documentary even went into production. He also claims that the film portrays him in a negative light.

In December of last year and again in January of this year, production companies screened the film for Lil Wayne’s manager who asked that the objectionable content be removed from the film. However, Weezy’s camp alleges that the production companies still put forward a “scandalous portrayal” of the rapper at the Sundance Festival without his knowledge or approval.
