Rick Ross has sold millions of records and made even more fans during his seven years in the rap game. But the Carol City, FL native has also made a few enemies. From rappers to gangsters and jilted lovers, there is a growing list of people that he has rubbed the wrong way.
On January 28,2013 the “Bawse” was driving in his Rolls Royce celebrating his birthday when someone tried to blow out his candles permanently. While there is speculation by some that the drive-by “hit” was staged, we can’t help but wonder who would have the cajones to take real life shots at the Bawse.
Continuing our long tradition of playing armchair detective, here are six guesses based on what has popped up about Ricky Ross in the news.
The real life gangster has had a bone to pick with Ross for taking his name and losing the battle in court to get it back. So what better way to send a message than a few hollow points through your door?
“I refer to him as William Roberts, the guy who tattooed my name on his hands,” he said in this interview with Forbezdvd.com.
4. 50 Cent
Curtis has had a long-standing feud with Ross but has too much at stake to pull the trigger himself. So Fif probably hired some freelancers from the local school for the blind only to mock their poor aim on Twitter and Instagram.
“Hahaha fat boy hit the building?lol it looks staged to me. No hole’s in da car.”
“He claimed in his financial affidavit he spent $50 a month on clothing total yet I knew Will was a clothing and sneaker freak, always buying himself and Lil’ Will the newest gear.”
She goes on to write that Ross claims to only have made $202,439 in both 2006 and 2007, despite owning a million-dollar home. So we could see how the sight of him wheeling around in a Rolls Royce would make her want to bust some shots.
2. The GDs.
Ross got into a little heat with some Gangster Disciples over his namedropping of the gang’s founder Larry Hoover in the song “BMF.” After canceling some tour dates there was speculation that Ross was trying to avoid them.
However, Ross addresses that rumor and disputes any claims that he can’t go where he pleases in this interview with 99 Jamz.
“Anybody that understand anything about GD’s knows that its’ about Growth and Development…I was just in Chicago a week and a half ago, and if I can go to Chicago and handle my business I can go to North Carolina…I salute Larry Hoover…no checks were cut.”
1.Young Jeezy
Ross’s beef with Jeezy came to a head at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards when members of both camps got to scrappin. Ross admitted that he tried to choke the Snowman in the fight.
