Another teacher is accused of sleeping with one of her students. In a strange twist of events, this time the teacher is the one who informed the authorities. The teacher told on herself because the student who she slept with attempted to extort money from her.
According to court documents, former teacher Kahtanna Culp is charged with having an improper relationship with a student. Culp went to the principal of Northbrook High School in Houston, Texas to confess about her relationship late last year. She made it clear to the principal that she wanted to end the affair. However, when she told the student, he didn’t react well and threatened to expose her if she didn’t pay him. The principal took the proper action and called the authorities. Culp was then fired on the spot.
When police began investigating the case they spoke to the student. He said he and his former teacher had sex multiple times. He even went as far as to say he lived with Culp on and off for seven months. The student also said Culp allowed his friends to come over to her house where she provided them with large amounts of weed to smoke. When investigators first went to speak with Kahtanna Culp, she refused to answer any questions without her lawyer present.
The SBISD Superintendent of Schools Duncan Klussmann said,”This kind of outrageous, illegal conduct will never be tolerated in this school district. We will always aggressively investigate any allegation of impropriety by any teacher or any other employee, and we will take the strongest possible action against such employees when these allegations are proven true. Our first priority every day is the safety of every student. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement authorities and urge that if these allegations are true, this former employee be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Why is it so hard for teachers to find people their own age to sleep with? Aren’t there other teachers to sleep with?
