NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew is in trouble with the law. According to multiple reports, the Jacksonville Jaguar allegedly punched a security guard in the face after Jones-Drew’s friend was asked to settle down in a St. Augustine, Florida restaurant.
According to the police report, MJD intentionally punched the security guard on the left cheek when he saw his friend and the security guard get into a physical altercation. Everything all started because MJD and a friend were at “Reggae Sundays” at St. Augustine hotspot Conch House. Maurice Jones-Drew’s friend was repeatedly asked to stop touching a female. The security guard and MJD’s friend got into a verbal confrontation where the friend began “slapping” the security guard in the chest. Things escalated from there and a huge brawl erupted. One of the security guards got Maurice Jones-Drew’s friend in a headlock and MJD walked over and clocked the guard.
After the melee was broken up, the security guard spoke with law enforcement who noted the guard’s jaw was “swollen a great deal and had a large lump on his jaw bone.” The security guard went to the hospital where it was found that he had other contusions and a bruised jaw bone. Nothing was broken.
Maurice Jones-Drew has yet to make a statement regarding the matter nor has anyone from his camp.
