In a recent VLAD TV interview, Talib Kweli recalled the early beginnings of Kanye‘s career. For those not familiar with the more humble side of Kanye, this story is quite an eye opener. It forces the listener to realize how far Kanye has come and what obstacles were smack dab in his path along the way.

Take a look!

It’s interesting to wonder what changes may not have come in to play in mainstream Hip Hop had Ye never been allowed to be heard. What would the mid 2000’s have been like without Late Registration or Graduation? While Kanye is not a spitter per se, he is still clever as hell and his one liners are certified beasts.

Thanks for the memory Talib! Sometimes when artists become larger than life it’s easy to forget how it all began, and why we fell in love with them in the first place.
