The murder of Trayvon Martin has left an indelible mark on Black America. As we continue to fight for justice, Ebony Magazine previewed their special four-cover edition of their September issue.
On newsstands August 6th, Ebony Magazine named the issue “We Are Trayvon.” Three of the covers feature celebrity men in hoodies with their sons. Those men are Boris Kodjoe and his son Nicholas, Dwyane Wade and his sons Zaire and Zion, and Spike Lee and his teenage son Jackson.
Inside of the magazine, Jill Scott wrote a poem tributing the slain teen. Columbia University professor Dr. Marc Lamont Hill and Rev. Al Sharpton both contributed editorial pieces for the Trayvon Martin-dedicated issue. Finally, Ebony got an exclusive interview with the parents of Trayvon Martin Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.
Check out the rest of the covers below.
